JEE Main Units and Measurements PYQ PDF is a free, 52-page resource containing 237 questions from the 2002-2026 papers. The chapter recorded 27 questions across the 2026 papers, with a reported weightage of 5.68% in the referenced database.
The PDF includes 138 dimensional-analysis questions, 70 questions on errors in measurements, and 219 single-correct MCQs alongside 16 numerical-value questions and 2 multiple-correct MCQs. Questions are arranged from newest to oldest to help students practise recent exam patterns and revise key concepts.
The PDF Contains:
| Questions | Pages | Weightage in 2026 | Years Covered |
|---|---|---|---|
| 237 | 52 | 5.68% ↓15.62% | 2002-2026 |
The set covers Class 11 Physics, 2026 back to 2002: JEE Main from 2013 and its predecessor AIEEE for 2002 to 2012. Of the 237 questions, 198 come from 2019 onwards, so most of the set reflects the current NTA pattern.
Every question carries its exam date and shift. The file contains questions only, with options as printed and no answer key.
JEE Main Units and Measurements Weightage by Year
As per JEE Main Units and Measurements weightage from past years, students can expect 1 to 2 questions from this chapter in every shift. It took 5.68% of the Physics questions in 2026 and peaked at 6.74% in 2025.
| Year | Questions | Average per Shift | Weightage in Physics | Change in Weightage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | 27 | 1.42 | 5.68% | −15.62% |
| 2025 | 32 | 1.68 | 6.74% | +44.36% |
| 2024 | 28 | 1.40 | 4.67% | +24.44% |
| 2023 | 27 | 1.12 | 3.75% | +3.50% |
| 2022 | 25 | 1.09 | 3.62% | −2.55% |
Questions from 2021 and earlier add up to 98. Weightage is the chapter's share of all Physics questions in the bank for that year.
Topic-Wise Questions and PDFs
Two topics carry the chapter. Dimensional analysis and errors in measurements together make up 208 of the 237 questions, about 88%. Each topic also has its own PDF if you want to drill one area.
| Topic | Questions | PDF Size | Download |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dimensional analysis | 138 | 2.51 MB | Download PDF |
| Errors in measurements | 70 | 1.93 MB | Download PDF |
| Least count and significant figures | 11 | 1.71 MB | Download PDF |
| Units of measurements, system of units and SI units | 7 | 1.68 MB | Download PDF |
| Fundamental and derived units | 7 | 1.73 MB | Download PDF |
| Measurement of length | 4 | 1.70 MB | Download PDF |
Question Types and Difficulty
This is mostly a single-answer MCQ chapter. The 16 numerical-value questions all come from 2020 onwards, when the integer-answer format arrived.
| Question Type | Questions | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Single-correct MCQ | 219 | 92.4% |
| Numerical value | 16 | 6.8% |
| Multiple-correct MCQ | 2 | 0.8% |
| Total | 237 | 100% |
By the difficulty tag in our question bank, 137 questions are easy and 84 are medium. Only 2 are hard, and 14 carry no tag. Direct formula and unit-conversion questions are the bulk, with the harder ones mixing error propagation and an unknown power in a dimensional formula.
| Level | Questions | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | 137 | Direct unit conversion, dimensions of a standard quantity, reading a least count |
| Medium | 84 | Percentage error through a formula, finding unknown powers by dimensional analysis |
| Hard | 2 | Combined errors with several measured quantities |
How to Practise This Chapter
Start with the 138 dimensional-analysis questions and attempt them in the order printed, newest first. Cover finding dimensions, checking an equation for consistency and solving for unknown powers.
Then take the 70 error questions. Practise absolute, relative and percentage error, and the rule that powers multiply the percentage error while sums and differences add absolute errors. Finish with the remaining 29 questions on least count, significant figures and SI units, and redo every miss after a day.
