JEE Main 2024 Jan 27 Shift 2 Question Paper Analysis

Just like shift 1, JEE Main 2024 Jan 27 Shift 2 question paper, the Mathematics section in Shift 2 was the most difficult section among the three. Physics was reported to be based on JEE Main 2023 PYQs and Chemistry was completely NCERT-based. 

  • No question was asked from the deleted JEE Main syllabus 2024. 
  • There was a high weightage of assertion reasoning questions in Physics and Chemistry. The numerical questions in Physics were direct formula-based.
  • Unlike the previous shift, students found more weightage of Organic Chemistry in JEE Main 2024 Jan 27 Shift 2 chemistry paper. 
  • Chapters and topics from Class 12th had a higher weightage compared to Class 11th topics. 
  • Physical Chemistry had the least weightage and most of the questions from Inorganic Chemistry were asked in Section B (numerical-based questions). 6-7 questions from Inorganic Chemistry were asked in Section B.
  • MCQs were mainly assertion reasoning types. 1 question with a matching list was also asked. 
  • Unlike previous year, calculation-based questions were less while 5-6 assertion reasoning questions were asked in the exam.

After the conclusion of JEE Main 2024 Session 1, NTA is going to release JEE Main 2024 answer key PDF on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. First provisional answer key will be released which will be open for challenges, if any. Once all the objections raised have been scrutinized, NTA is going to release the final JEE Main 2024 Answer Key.

These final answer key will be used to calculate JEE Main Result 2024. JEE Main result 2024 date is February 12, 2024. Candidates aiming for admission to NITs, must score 200+ marks. Candidates aiming for admission to IITs, must score 90%ile and above to be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.

NTA is also going to begin JEE Main registration 2024 session 2 from February 2, 2024. Those who are interested to appear for JEE Main 2024 April session can register online from February 2 to March 2. JEE Main April session is scheduled from April 1 to April 15.
