NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The race for JEE Main 2020 has begun from today. The exam shift for B. Planning Paper is 2.30 – 5.30 PM. Candidates who wish to sit for both B. Arch and B. Planning Paper have to appear for an exam of 3 hours 30 minutes. From a total of 11,18,673 registered candidates, 59,003 have registered for B. Planning.
Major changes have been introduced in JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern from this year. JEE Main 2020 will be conducted in 3 papers instead of 2 papers. Now B. Arch and B. Planning will be conducted separately, as Paper II and Paper III, respectively. B.Planning paper will be of 400 marks with a total of 100 questions.

JEE Main B. Planning Paper is a 3-hour exam. The applicants will be tested on the basis of their aptitude, mathematics, and planning based problems. The aptitude section holds most weightage with 50 questions, followed by 25 questions from mathematics and planning based problems, each.

The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test mode.
B.Planning Paper will have three sub-sections:
Exam Duration – 3 Hours
Exam Medium – The question papers will be avialble in Hindi and English at all exam centers. For exam centers in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, the medium of the exam will also be available in Gujarati.

For appearing in the B.Planning exam of JEE Main 2020, the candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination. Other mandatory requirements are mentioned below:-
Other technical Institutions participating in the counseling process through JoSAA/CSAB can adopt the above-mentioned eligibility criteria. Colleges affiliated to State Universities will prepare a separate ranking list based on criteria based on their own selection process.
The NTA has lifted the age limit for JEE Main Paper 3. There is no age limit for appearing in the JEE Main examination. Candidates who have passed or are appearing for class 12th exam in 2020, are eligible for appearing in the exam, irrespective of the age limit.
Although, different institutes have the age limit factor in their selection process. It is advised to confirm the eligibility of institutes in which students are willing to take admission. Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2020, January session through online mode by visiting the official website of NTA (National Test Agency) at www.nta.ac.in, www.nta.nic.in and www.jeemain.nta.nic.in from September 3, 2019. A candidate must know that offline application form won’t be accepted, in any case. Submitting multiple application forms will also lead to rejection of the application.
Since January JEE (Main)-2020 B.Arch and B.Planning will be conducted in multi-shifts, the raw marks obtained by all the candidates who appeared will be converted into NTA score and declared by 31st January 2020. This shall comprise four NTA scores for each of the three parts (Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Planning Based Test) and total in B. Planning of January JEE (Main)-2020.
Overall merit for JEE Main Paper 3 will be prepared by merging NTA Scores of all shifts of all days. Method of resolving ties Tie between candidates obtaining equal Total NTA scores in B.Planning will be resolved in following descending order:
Till last year, B. Arch and B. Planning were conducted under one umbrella of JEE Main Paper 2. This year, both Paper 2 and Paper 3, will have Mathematics and Aptitude subjects. While in Paper 2 the third section will be of Drawing for B. Arch and Planning Based for B. Planning candidates. Here’s a brief analysis of the previous year’s JEE Main Exam.
As per JEE Main 2019 Paper-2 Analysis, the Aptitude section was the easiest one, while Mathematics was deemed the toughest one. For JEE Main 2020, Paper 3 will have both aptitude and mathematics sections. Planning based questions will test the candidates on their basic planning knowledge, skills, and techniques.

JEE Main Paper 3 is only for students seeking admission in the B. Planning program. Students who want to appear for both B. planning and B. Arch exam can apply for both the exam. The exam duration, in that case, will be 3 and a half hours.
