For example: 60 correct + 10 incorrect = (60 × 4) − (10 × 1) = 240 − 10 = 230 marks

Yes, the five Numerical Value Questions in each subject are compulsory in JEE Main 2027. Candidates no longer have the type of internal choice that was available in the earlier pattern.
However, candidates can leave a question unanswered. An unanswered question receives zero marks, but if they answer correctly, they will get +4 and -1 for incorrect answers.
JEE Main Exam Pattern 2027: How Much Time Should You Give Each Subject?
Paper 1 gives candidates 180 minutes for 75 questions, which is around an average of 2.4 minutes per question. This does not mean you should spend 60 minutes on each subject.
