New Test Paper in GATE 2027: Robotics and Automation

IIT Madras has introduced Robotics and Automation (RA) as a new GATE 2027 test paper. The RA paper targets students from mechanical, electrical, electronics, and computer science backgrounds who are building careers in automation, intelligent systems, and robotics design.

The GATE 2027 RA paper consist of two parts Part A (60 marks) and Part B (25 marks).

  • Part A consists of 39 questions carrying a total of 60 marks: 18 questions carrying 1 mark each and 21 questions carrying 2 marks each
  • Part B1 (Electrical) and Part B2 (Mechanical) consist of 16 questions each carrying a total of 25 marks: 7 questions carrying 1 mark each and 9 questions carrying 2 marks each.

New Test Paper in GATE 2027: Robotics and Automation

The Robotics and Automation syllabus covers kinematics and dynamics of robots, sensors and actuators, robot programming, control systems, machine vision, and AI applications in robotics. Students from BE/BTech programs in robotics, mechatronics, or allied disciplines can use this paper to seek admission to postgraduate programs or PSU roles in manufacturing and automation industries.
