GATE 2027 Syllabus has been officially released by IIT Madras at gate2027.iitm.ac.in. The syllabus has been revised after five years. A new Robotics and Automation (RA) paper has been introduced. Multiple papers carry updated topic lists, and Textile Engineering (TF) has moved into the Engineering Sciences (XE) paper as a new optional section. - GATE 2027 is conducted by IIT Madras on behalf of the NCB-GATE and the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
- The exam is scheduled for February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple sessions.
- Every paper carries 100 marks across 65 questions — 15 marks from General Aptitude (common to all papers) and 85 marks from the subject-specific section.
- New for GATE 2027: Robotics and Automation (RA) is a brand-new paper. Textile Engineering (TF) is now an optional section in XE Engineering Sciences.
- The GATE 2027 General Aptitude syllabus now includes Analytical Aptitude and Spatial Aptitude as formal sub-sections alongside Verbal and Quantitative Aptitude.
- GATE 2027 results will be declared on 19 March 2027. Your GATE score is valid for three years from the date of result.
- GATE 2027 Registration is open from August 14, 2026 on GOAPS. Registration requires a verified DigiLocker account — create or link yours before submitting the application.
