GATE 2027 will cover 30 papers spanning engineering, science, architecture, and humanities disciplines. • GATE 2027 will offer 30 papers, including CS, EC, ME, CE, EE, CH, IN, BT, and NM (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering).
• Every GATE paper includes a common General Aptitude (GA) section worth 15 marks — the remaining 85 marks test subject-specific knowledge.
• The GATE 2027 syllabus is expected to remain consistent with GATE 2026 until the official information brochure is published.
• Engineering Mathematics carries approximately 13–15 marks in most technical papers and is a dedicated section for all students regardless of their paper.
• Students can appear in up to two GATE papers in the same cycle, subject to the allowed paper-pair combinations listed in the brochure.
• The NM paper (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering) covers ship hydrostatics, stability, resistance, propulsion, marine diesel engines, and ocean structures.
• A GATE score remains valid for three years from the result declaration date for M.Tech admissions and PSU recruitment purposes.
