JEE Main Result Marks Vs Ranks - Predict Your Rank & College From Your Score

The Central Board of School Education (CBSE) administers the JEE Main. The CBSE announces the JEE Main Marks Vs Ranks as soon as the JEE Main results are released. CBSE has issued JEE Main 2018 Result and cutoff. The JEE Main Cut Off to qualify for JEE Advanced is CRL, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD is 74, 45, 29, 24, -35 respectively.

  • Class 12 marks are not considered for determining the ranks. Ranks are allocated as per the normalized scores in JEE Main.
  • No score card/rank card will be sent to the candidates. It has to be downloaded.
  • Based on the Mains Rank List 2018, the candidates are selected for the admission to various B.E./B.Tech programs which are offered by 31 NITs, 20 IITs and 18 GFTIs.
  • Candidates must secure at least 75% marks in or be in top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective board to get admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs.

Preparation Procedure of JEE Main 2018 Rank List

  • CBSE prepares a total of eight JEE Mains Rank List each, for Paper 1 and Paper 2 based on the performance of candidates in the respective exams.
  • JEE Main rank card is prepared category wise.

Types of JEE Main Rank Lists are mentioned in the table provided below:

Seat Matrix- JEE Main Seat Allocation

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) is responsible for conducting counselling and seat allocation process for the candidates who have qualified JEE Main and JEE Advanced. A total of 94 institutes (23 IITs, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 20 GFTIs) participate in JoSAA Counselling. JEE Main Result Marks Vs Rank

CBSE will release JEE Main Result for Paper 1 in the month of April 2018 at www.cbseresults.nic.in. The total marks obtained in JEE Main is termed as scores. The scores are calculated by multiplying the total number of correct answers by 4 and subtracting the total number of incorrect answers.

JEE Main Score = 4 marks x number of correct answers - number of wrong answers x 1

This JEE Main score is considered for calculating the ranks. It two or more than two candidates obtain equal marks then, tie break criteria are used. On the basis of All India Ranks (AIR), candidates are called for JEE Main Counselling
