This test is taken by aspirants who wish to pursue Post Graduation courses offered by the conducting institutes in streams related to their Undergraduate stream of Engineering or other degree.

A vast majority of colleges, institutes and universities offering Post Graduation courses accept score obtained by candidates as criteria for admissions into their programs.

GATE scores are also used by companies under Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) as a vital criterion for recruitment.

GATE is designed to test the aspirant’s comprehensive understanding of undergraduate subjects like engineering/architecture/technology.
